YouTube.com treats me like a “King of Guitar!”

{A “Thank You” message from Jan Davis Guitar}

When many people hear or see the words: YouTube, they assume it is nothing but thousands of videos with extremely short duration, that could be classified as silly, even childish submissions. These assumptions are true to a point, because this is basically how YouTube started. It has now become one of the most-viewed web sites on the Internet.

Today, there is much more going on at YouTube than the original concept. Their MUSIC videos are now offering everything from solo artists to top music groups, submitted from nearly every country on this planet!

For example: I am considered a solo music artist and I have received thousands of views, along with remarkable comments from viewers, telling me how much they enjoy my music, delivered with a most unusual video: “Gypsy From Andalusia,” thanks to Rich Tamayo’s great editing ability. Here’s a link to view “Gypsy.”

I love the idea that fans are viewing YouTube from around the world, listening to my mini-guitar concert and are encouraging me to make more music videos.

To wrap up this blog, I want to say “Thank You” to YouTube.com and everyone out there who enjoy their Music videos, for this Internet giant has given me, along with other musicians and artists, a true worldwide venue for our musical abilities.

Press Release: Download your favorite story rhymes from the Bird Mommy DVD!

Posted by greenwebdesign on November 19, 2007

Press Release dated 11-16-2007

Great News for Parents & Grandparents of kids ages 2-8

Bird Mommy’s Readalong Storybook” is a fun and educational DVD that has added a new, innovative twist: you can either purchase a traditional DVD with all 16 stories, or you can purchase the story rhymes individually and download them to your computer!

Internet viewers can choose from 16 animated short stories and rhymes.  Bird Mommy tells each story along with printed words displayed, to help children learn to read.  This is backed up with tempo instrumental guitar driven music from the 60’s and 70’s, which kids may never have heard before, making it a fun new experience for them!

The download concept was derived from the idea that a child may be wild about certain stories and their parents or grandparents can select only those stories to download.  This is very similar to what music download websites such as Stone Tiger Music offer, where people may find a certain song they like on a CD or album, but would prefer to download only their favorite song, rather than the entire album.

This idea was developed by LauraBob Music and Entertainment, who recently announced that the entire Bird Mommy Storybook can be downloaded to computers and iPods.  Green Web Design was able to take the idea and make it a reality.  For those who prefer to purchase a full DVD instead, you may still do so at www.BirdMommy.com.

Unlike full-feature length DVD’s, children can choose one or more stories they want to see and hear, and enjoy them even while in the back seat of a vehicle, or watching from a cell phone.

Reports are coming in from around the world, emphasizing that children are wild about the Bird Mommy DVD.  Kids who speak foreign languages, including USA latinos, are learning to speak and spell in English, while being entertained.

Every parent or grandparent should check this out and share it with the children in their lives!

Just Like Dr. Phil, I Worry About Kids’ Lives

Just like Dr. Phil, I worry about kid’s lives

By Jan Davis Guitar

Kids are being killed by cars.  Kids are being bitten by rabid dogs.  They are drowning in water-related accidents.  Many are unaware of dangers when riding their bicycles or tricycles.  Some children are not aware of the pain caused by a bumble bee sting.

I’ve been a guitarist, composer, singer and record producer for many years and have never come across, or worked on, such a delightful project for kids than the DVD entitled: “Bird Mommy’s Readalong Storybook.”  I had the privilege of providing the background music for 16 fantastic stories, that kids absolutely adore, while they learn about some of life’s hazards.

When Bird Mommy narrates her stories, children love listening to her and her vital messages.  Even parents and grandparents stop, look and listen, for they know that kids between the ages of two to eight years are paying attention and learning from this animated miracle.  Yes, children are now receiving these messages.

The Bird Mommy DVD is not only entertaining, it has many life-saving episodes along with educational material and all the while, kids are glued to the monitor or cell phone videos, then ask to see the stories again and again!

Since kids, ages two through eight, are in their formative years, what a blessing it is to know these children now have something they can own and remember, always.  It is vital that parents and grandparents view the Bird Mommy DVD.

As Dr. Phil stated in an interview with David Letterman:

“The only thing I fear is for my kid’s safety.”

All sixteen Bird Mommy story titles are listed at the following web site and each story or rhyme carries a free sample preview at birdmommy.com

The story behind the album “Concert by the Sea”

Posted by greenwebdesign on October 15, 2007

Story behind the CD album:

“CONCERT BY THE SEA”

By Jan Davis Guitar

I wanted to compose something for people that would help them relax and ease their tension, by visualizing in my mind a lazy summer day at the beach, where most I’ve known go to cool off and let their troubles drift away. This was the motivation for writing “Summer Fantasy.”

Then, remembering days past, I found myself seeing my beautiful little daughter, Laura, as she romped by the seaside, even taking little dips in the ocean and enjoying life at the beach to the fullest! This memory gave me the inspiration to write a song for her, entitled: “Laura by the Sea.”

I wrote “Sunday Vagabond” as an up-tempo salute to ‘beach bums’ everywhere, just doing what they do best… bumming around the beach on Sundays!

Being a huge fan of the Spanish guitar and the way graceful Spanish dancers relate to the music, my minds-eye took me to the seaside cliffs of Spain and from this picture, I composed a song for all Spanish dancers entitled: “Gypsy From Andalusia.”

“Classical Fandango” is one of my favorite compositions, inspired by my love of all classical music. This song is dedicated to all classical songwriters, past and present.

“Flamenco Futura” was co-written with all the love we could give this song. Donna and I wanted to tell the world, there is truly a future in store for the art of Flamenco guitar!

While kicking back on a gorgeous day at the beach, thinking about what I wanted to create as a partial theme for the CD album, a quiet calm from the ocean waves swept my thoughts to many of the women I love and cherish.

I had written a song for my sweet and lovely daughter, Laura, and decided to write a danceable, flowing guitar piece for my equally sweet and lovely granddaughter, “Christina Marie.”

My thoughts took me to a dear, extraordinary woman, who always gave me a tremendous amount of inspiration and encouragement to continue with my craft. Her song is entitled: “Jessie’s Theme.”

Then, I was again swept away with thoughts of the most cherished love of my life, the one woman who has stuck with me through the ‘roller-coaster’ of life, with all of its ups and downs, is my wife, Donna, i.e.; “Donna de Oro,” for she is my true soul mate.

The story behind the song “I Loved You Too Much”

“I Loved You Too Much” Story

By Jan Davis

I composed this song, strictly from a man’s point of view. After it’s release, I was asked to serve as the USA national spokesman for abused women.

Partly based on the O.J. Simpson tragedy that befell Nicole Simpson, it occurred to me that a man can love a woman, if you want to call it ‘love,’ to the point it becomes an obsession. I believed this lyric had to be presented to the public, targeted to men with obsessive traits, such as extreme jealousy, anger, insecurity and whatever else may cause men to lash out, violently. I want this song to continue to grab violent men’s attention, to help prevent them from lashing out, in any way, toward the women they supposedly love.

“I Loved You Too Much” primarily contains questions a man could, should or would ask himself after committing a senseless act of violence. Hopefully, in asking, he would calm down and give himself the gonads to stop, think and say, “Am I loving her too much?”

This song is from the album “I Loved You Too Much“. Songs from this album can be downloaded from the Stone Tiger Music website.
